Black and white pose a striking contrast; they are in fact binary oppositions of one another. This painting highlights the fluidity and leniency against the rigidity found in the human mind and behaviour. The darkness of the night against the light of the moon and stars. With the abundance of binary oppositions all around us and within us, it is pertinent to realise that one cannot be truly appreciated without the presence of the other.
